The Masjid-e-Askari Karimpur Construction project is an initiative of Walfajr Foundation® in association with Anjuman-e-Askaria® Karimpur (Holavanahalli). For over 150 years, Karimpur—a historic town in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka, located just 90 km from India’s Silicon City, Bangalore—has been home to a vibrant and diverse Shia Ithna-Asheri community.
The original Masjid-e-Askari was constructed nearly a century ago, on July 25, 1925. As our community grew over the decades, the historic building became severely congested, creating an urgent need for a completely rebuilt, more spacious spiritual home to serve our families.
Alhamdulillah, through collective dedication and grace, construction is now complete. The beautiful new Masjid-e-Askari Karimpur was officially inaugurated on Sunday, 29th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1445 H (October 15, 2023).
